Introducing Groundfall: Groundbreaking fun for the whole family

Mixed reality
Everyone knows the floor is lava.
You played it as a kid. Your guests played it as kids. The rule never needed explaining: stay off the ground, or you fall. Simple, physical, and impossible to resist at any age.
We are happy to announce that this childhood instinct now has a dedicated mixed-reality stage.
Groundfall, Valo Motion’s new standalone mixed-reality product for family entertainment venues, bowling centers, indoor active parks, amusement parks, and other location-based entertainment venues, is here.

What is Groundfall
In simple terms, Groundfall is the floor-is-lava concept made into a full mixed-reality experience, and it is groundbreaking fun for the whole family.
Players step into the play area, and the game begins. A big screen comes alive in front of them. The floor on the screen cracks open into a shifting lava landscape. Tiles appear, crack, shift, and collapse. Players jump, dodge, scramble, and try very hard not to become the first person the group laughs at.
Then someone falls.
Their character collapses dramatically on screen. The room reacts instantly.
Laughter. Shouting. A friend is pointing at the screen. Someone in the crowd is reaching for their phone before they even think about it.
That reaction is exactly how the original Groundfall game on ValoArena reached 200M+ views, 15M+ likes and upvotes, and over 1M TikTok saves before it ever had its own product.
Each session runs up to three minutes. The difficulty adjusts automatically throughout, reading the group in real time, so a birthday party of six-year-olds and a group of competitive adults both get the right challenge without anyone on your team touching a setting. When the session ends, a QR code appears on screen, and players walk out with a branded video souvenir they love sharing on their socials.

What this means for your venue
📣 Proven demand: Groundfall brings you a mixed-reality family entertainment experience that your guests already know, want, search for, and share online.
👥 Large groups, small footprint: Groundfall supports 4 to 10 players per session across 19 modular setups, ranging from 20 to 49 m². A 10-player experience in this footprint is rare in the industry.
📊 High throughput potential: 200+ players per hour at full capacity on the largest configuration. Sessions run 2.5 to 3 minutes, and groups move fast.
🧠 Smart dynamic difficulty: The game reads each group in real time and adjusts automatically throughout the session. If the group is doing well, it pushes harder. If most players fall, it eases off. No two sessions play out the same way, at any skill level, with no manual input needed.
🙌 Zero staff, zero wearables: Groundfall is a fully self-operating mixed-reality product. Players step in, and the game starts, with no headsets, controllers, onboarding, wearables, or attendants needed.
💰 Low cost per player: Zero staff, zero wearables, and fast sessions across 4 to 10 simultaneous players keep the cost per player low for your operation.
📐 Modular and retrofit-friendly: Groundfall is available across 19 configurations from 20 to 49 m², so it can fit the floor space you already have. Three recommended sizes cover the majority of venue needs: Small fits up to 5 players in 5.20 x 4.85 m. Medium fits up to 8 players in 5.20 x 6.85 m. Large fits up to 10 players in 6.20 x 7.85 m.
🔧 Self-installable setup: Your team can install Groundfall without a Valo Motion engineer on site. You need at least two capable people with basic installation skills who can follow a step-by-step guide. If you'd prefer not to handle it yourself, our sales team can arrange installation through an official partner.
👨👩👧👦 Built for the whole family: Groundfall works for ages 6 and up, while children under 6 play best alongside a parent or sibling.
👀 Spectator pull: The gorgeous backlit structure makes every session visible nearby, turning watchers into the next group of players.
📱 Built-in branded video sharing: Every session gives guests a branded video souvenir they can share online, with your venue’s logo included.
If you are looking for a new revenue-driving experience for your FEC that guests understand quickly and your team can run easily, Groundfall belongs on your shortlist.
Where Groundfall came from
Groundfall started as one game in ValoArena's library when the attraction launched in 2022.
Within months, it became the most-played game across every ValoArena installation worldwide because guests kept choosing it on their own.

The numbers tell you why. As of April 2026, Groundfall has generated 2,485,171 sessions across all ValoArena locations worldwide, accounting for 43.3% of all ValoArena gameplay. That is 3.5 times more sessions than the second most-played game.
In FECs that run their ValoArena in a pay-to-play business model, where guests choose and pay for each session themselves, the share climbs to 52.8%. When people vote with their wallets, Groundfall wins by a wide margin.
Then the internet joined the queue.
User-generated clips of dramatic character collapses, crowd reactions, last-second jumps, and group panic spread across TikTok, Instagram, and Reddit. One video alone crossed 100M views. Across all tracked posts, Groundfall content reached 200M+ views, 15M+ likes and upvotes, 1M+ TikTok saves, and around 40,000 comments.
The comments kept asking the same question: “Where can I try this?”
That question came from consumers who had never visited a ValoArena venue. Then it came from operators asking whether they could get this as its own dedicated product
The demand was louder than the supply.
So we listened. We took the proven experience, kept the parts players loved, and built a dedicated product around it.
As Abhishek Jaiswal, Senior Game Developer at Valo Motion, puts it:
“The hardest part of building Groundfall was knowing what to leave out. A successful game can easily get buried under features that dilute what made it fun in the first place. We stayed true to what players loved about Groundfall and built a dedicated product around it, not away from it.”

The year of Groundfall
Groundfall has become its own universe inside Valo Motion, and 2026 is the year that universe is getting a lot bigger.
It started with the original Groundfall on ValoArena in 2022. That gave us the proof: millions of sessions, fierce replay value, and guests who somehow turned falling into lava into a global social media event. But the appetite for Groundfall kept growing well beyond ValoArena's walls.
So in February 2026, Valo Motion launched Groundfall: Temple Escape on ValoJump. Same world, completely different body movement. Players jump on trampolines and air tracks, escaping the rising lava through a temple-inspired adventure. Operators with ValoJump installations got a new reason for guests to keep coming back. Guests who knew Groundfall from ValoArena found it again on a platform they had never expected.

Now Groundfall has its own dedicated experience.
One proven concept. Three ways to play. Each one delivers the same promise: rules simple enough for a six-year-old, movement intense enough for a competitive adult, and a reaction loud enough to pull a crowd.
This is also the year Valo Motion turns 10. In that decade, Valo Motion has grown from a Finnish research-driven game company into a pioneer in active entertainment with mixed-reality attractions operating in more than 80 countries and over 1,000 venues worldwide.
That experience shows up where operators feel it most: reliable hardware, stable software, and attractions your team does not need to babysit.
When you install Groundfall, a decade of real-venue learning comes with it.
Groundfall is truly groundbreaking.
